Reasons Why I Love You Book
My husband and I don’t go all out for Valentine’s Day, but it’s still a holiday I love and so I try to make it special without expensive gifts and crowded dinner plans!
In the past, I’ve done a fun VDay Balloon Gift, a thoughtful Dry Cleaning Gift that he LOVED, and I’ve spiced it up a bit with this Sexier Gift idea (probably his favorite!)
This printable gift book idea is a perfectly sentimental keepsake and it’s super easy to make – and we have TWO variations + free printables for you today. Take a look –
What I Love About You Book
The first idea is called “The ABC’s of What I Love About You” and it’s all about the characteristics of your sweetheart that you LOVE! Here is how to make it:
SUPPLIES –
- Printable ABC’s of What I Love About You Pack (download below)
- Pen or marker
- Circle hole punch
- Metal clasp ring
- Pictures + glue stick, optional
INSTRUCTIONS –
- Download and print the printables.
- Grab a pen and start writing down the fun characteristics you love for every letter of the alphabet.
- Optional – Look through alllllll your pictures and find some of your sweetheart that illustrate the qualities on your list.
- For example:
- The letter “E” in my DIY book was labeled “Encouraging.” I found a cute picture of my husband coaching my son at a baseball game.
- A = His ADORABLE laugh
- B = The bedtime stories he tells the kids
- C = The cuddles he gives when someone is having a bad day. (He really is the more intuitive one between the two of us!)
- You can compliment his eye colour, hair colour, his sense of humour, etc. You can mention nicknames, his hobbies or something he has a passion for… anything you can think of and put into your own words will work for this!
- For example:
- Glue the pictures to the book, either on the front or back, as space permits.
- Punch a hole into the top left corner of each card, then stack them up in ABC order.
- Slip your metal ring through the stack of cards and secure it so you have a soft cover little flipbook!
…and that’s it!
The ABC’S of Us Book
The second idea is called “The ABC’s of Us” and it’s all about fun memories the two of you have had together. Here is how to make it:
SUPPLIES –
- The ABC’s Of Us Printables (download below)
- Pen or marker
- Circle hole punch
- Metal clasp ring
- Pictures + glue stick, optional
DIRECTIONS –
- Download and print the printables.
- Grab a pen and start thinking of the best memories about your love story! For each letter of the alphabet included in the printable, you get to write a fun memory. I had a lot of fun remembering and trying to come up with an idea for each letter.
- For example:
- For the letter “F”, I decided to write about our “First House.” You could write about your “First Date” or your “Favourite game” the two of you play together.
- B = Tell him he’s the only person in the whole world who gives you BUTTERFLIES in your stomach.
- K = Compliment the way he kisses you, or talk about your first kiss memories.
- For example:
- Optional – Find some pictures that illustrate the memories on your list. (A picture of your first house would be so cute!)
- Punch a hole into the top left corner of each card, then stack them up in ABC order.
- Slip your metal ring through the stack of cards and secure it so you have a little flipbook!
…and that’s it!
I am excited to give my husband these fun love notes – aren’t they the perfect gift?! I think these notes and his favorite homemade cookies will totally do the trick this Valentine’s Day!

Fantastic! We can’t wait to get started!
Is there a similar concept for sending to adult children? We have a 24 year-old who resides out of state. She is our only child, and we would love to send her something as fun as this.
This can be for any ages! The one shown is what I gave to my husband, and he is 39! 🙂
But what appropriate topics?
You can come up with your own! For A, it could be memories of your trip to Alaska, or how she ALWAYS laughs at her dad’s jokes. You can be as creative as possible.
I love this idea too- thanks so much for sharing! What size is that cute little brown envelope you show with it and where did you get it?
Hi Megan –
Hobby Lobby and local paper stores have a ton of cute little envelopes! The printables are 2.5 x 5″, and you can probably find them on Amazon too!
Hope that helps! 🙂
xoxox,
Stephanie
This is wonderful idea! My husband always goes above and beyond for Valentine’s Day and it’s always hard for me to find something special for him. This will be right down his alley. He’s a photographer…so what better gift than a photo book! lol.
