Red Velvet Magic
We are BIG TIME brownie lovers at our house (brownie edges are coveted over here), but we never really explored the tastes of red velvet much in our home but this recipe has changed that! In the past 2 months since I first introduced these brownies to my family, they have been requested probably a dozen times!
The recipe is so easy, it’s borderline magical! These brownies are made with a box of your favorite red velvet cake mix and the butter and egg that it calls for. You can whip this together and have it ready for a party or an afternoon snack in no time flat!
How To Make Red Velvet Brownies With Cake Mix
Mix – Start by combining all the ingredients into a bowl and mixing well until the batter is nice and thick.
Pour – For these brownies, I decided to bake them in a mini muffin pan. I like these because they are the perfect bite-sized treat and I love how crispy the edges get. If you prefer to pour the batter in a small baking pan and then cutting them into squares after they’re done cooking, you can do that too!
Add The Heat – Bake these red velvet brownies at 350 degrees F for about 10-13 minutes.
Serving – You can serve these brownies warm straight from the oven as-is. I love ice cream on top of mine so I’ll make a small indentation while they are still warm to hold a small scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. (If ice cream is ever an option, I take it!) To do this, I used the narrow end of my pestle (from my mortar and pestle) and just pressed down softly in the center of each brownie. You can use the end of pretty much any utensil, so get creative!

Red Velvet Brownies
Ingredients
- 1 box of red velvet cake mix
- 1 stick (1/2 cubutter, melted
- 1 egg
- vanilla ice cream
- desired toppings, sprinkles, drizzled chocolate, hot fudge, etc
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Combine the cake mix, butter and egg until well combined.
- Scoop into a mini muffin tin, about 1 tbsp for each brownie (I used my cookie scoop). Batter will be very thick.
- Bake for 10-13 minutes.
- Remove from oven, and using the blunt end of a kitchen utensil or a spoon, make a large indentation in each brownie. This will make more room for ice cream in your brownie. If you would rather have your ice cream sit on top instead of in the brownie, skip this step.
- Place a scoop of ice cream on each brownie and add any desired toppings.
